Everyone came to our boat with the exception of Steve and Angie. By the time they got their dinghy in the water, we decided to head over to Buck's Launching in San Rafael. It's a quaint little bar. You have to go there to believe it. By car, you have to head north on 101 and take the San Pedro Rd exit and head east. When we got to the bar the owner told us we have 2 hours until they close. There is a small wood stove in one corner. The room is filled with photos and memorabilia. Above the main door is a little chalk board with the names of the guys who caught a sturgeon in 1992 during their last fishing derby.
After a few drinks, we headed back to our boat for drinks and eats. Later that night we discussed about watching the fireworks from Red Rock. Sean and Karen ended up not going. Lenard, Simon, Jack, Anne, Jenny and I got ready and headed for Red Rock Island.
It was an awesome day. We climbed to the cave after watching the fireworks. For some reason, it's so much easier walk up to the cave at night than during the day. I guess it's less scary when you can't see how far you'd fall.
We stayed another hour until we all decided to head back.
The next morning we woke and the anchorage was a bit rolly. Lenard called Simon and Sean to inform them we were weighing anchor to head for better anchorage. We had a beautiful sail to Clipper cove the anchorage in Treasure Island. Good thing for us we didn't have to far to go to get home.
To our family and friend
Smooth sailing to success!!
