When we arrived last August, Lenard decided to replace our Plastimo water tanks. The boat used to have 2 45 gallon stainless steel rectangular water tanks before that. If you can imagine how heavy one 45 gallon stainless steel water tanks is when it's full of water. On a multihull, it is all about weight.
The Plastimo water tanks served its purpose. From our experience of using these type of tanks, we started having problems on our way back home. LEAKS!! We think the climate had something to do with it. If you make sure you don't have any creases, it should be fine. In the heat, plastic become pliable. However, in cold weather it hardens.
Lenard changed to the Vetus rigid water tanks. No complaints so far.
