200 miles to go...

We provisioned in Santiago and anchored in Bahia de Santiago. We stayed here long enough to make a few skype phone calls to family & friends.
We have 200 miles to go until we reach our final destination - Zihuatanejo. A total of 2000 miles we've traveled once we get there. The next 2 anchorages after we left Bahia de Santiago was rocky and rolly. Needless to say, we were there long enough to rest and move on.
Caleta de Campos was a different story. We anchored here for 3 days. While there we checked out the little town. We love this place.

After we left Caleta, we went straight to Isla Grande (Ixtapa Island). We anchored here overnight and proceeded to Bahia de Zihuatanejo early next morning. Zihuatanejo was a memorable town because our friends from the bay area, David (Rocknroller) and Suan (Patti O'Patti); and Don and Hetty our Canadian friends from Gabriolla island arrived on February 3 and 4 respectively.  Susan and David was here for a week. Don and Hetty stayed long enough that they were able to sail up to Manzanillo with us.
By the way, the best cheeseburger we had in Mexico was at the Tides where David and Susan stayed at. They treated us to a cheeseburger dinner. It was tasty and delicious. Lenard & I were stuffed. I didn't have another meal until noon the next day.
Time does fly when you're having a great time. We spent almost a month in Zihuatanejo. Reunited with Kim & Judy on La Scala, Watch the Superbowl. Yay, Green Bay!! (For my Bro-n-law) Dave and Susan came and went. Now we are slowly heading north to the Sea of Cortez.

Isla Grande (Ixtapa Island)
Three for 1 beers but you have to buy lunch and they tack on 20% for service. I guess we have to splurge once in awhile.

Kim & Judy on La Scala in Bahia de Zihuatanejo. We joined them in Isla Grande for a few days - swimming, fishing, and snorkeling. Across the island is Playa Linda where we had lunch and checked out the crocodiles.

  1. Hey mom!

Glad you guys are doing good. =D It sounds so awesome out there, I wish I can go down there and check it all out. We miss you guys, and are glad you're doing great. (Oh and bleh! I was rooting for the Steelers, although it seemed to me that Green Bay were being more Stealers than the Steelers were doing). I love you mom! Don't come back too fast. xD
