Punta Banda to Isla San Martin

Of we go in search of more sunny days. After 2 anchorages - Punta Santo Tomas and Punta Colnett, we arrived at Isla San Martin.
Punta Santo Tomas anchorage, we had to zigzag through the kelp beds. The fisherman's pangas are located in the middle of the picture.
Punta Colnett - still no sun...
Finally, waking up to sunshine and clear skies. We pulled anchored, made water and headed for Isla San Martin.

These were used as dwelling by the fisherman until last year's storm blew through and destroyed them.
 The volcano.
Lenard walking on the lagoon at low tide. This lagoon is located on the front side of the island.
The mouth of the lagoon. Those are lava rocks.

Lenard chatting it up with Rafael, Oscar, Juan and Adrian. They are lobster fishermen. Rafael and Oscar speak and understand some English. Rafael has been a fisherman (lobster, abalone, & shark) for over 27 years. Oscar's uncle is the owner of the fishing company. Lenard told them we will bring a beer for all them later. The next morning Rafael gave us 4 lobsters. Fishing has been slow. We went 3 miles out to Roca Ben to catch the fish we above.
Rafael & Oscar enjoying the grilled fish we caught and cooked for them. Oscar made rice to go with the fish. He is quite a cook. He used to work as a sous chef at a restaurant in Ensenada a couple years ago.
The resident rooster, Gallo, and Juan doing dishes.
We stayed in Isla San Martin for almost a week. Time to pull anchor and head for Bahia San Quintin.
