SOLAR COOKING

Hello family and friends. Before we left, Lenard built a solar cooker. Our friend, Aaron gave him a copy of the instructions from an old National Geographic magazine article. We have used it several times on the trip. When there is sun, we use our solar cooker to save on propane. This morning before we left to do our laundry and grocery shopping. we cooked the following - solarcue chicken, the recipe was modified. We also cooked wild rice with vegetables to go with the chicken.

Ribs and Apple crisp
I have yet to find my baked chicken and rice photo.

Pea soup w/ veggies and ham and on the left is french bread. It has a weird looking shape because I had it covered with a dark towel and forgot to tell Lenard that my bread was underneath it and he accidentally stepped on it. It was delicious otherwise.
One afternoon I bake a vanilla cake. It was a Trader Joe's mix. I substituted applesauce for the butter.

Yummm!!
